Currently I'm vacationing on the beautiful Caribbean island of Tobago. Its basically a 'staycation', where one stays in their own country to get away. Earthly paradise and gorgeous twin sister of Trinidad, Tobago is a tourist haven. Experiencing all its natural beauty, being here, makes me proud to be a Trinbagonian. I've been moving around quite a lot, seeing many different places on the beautiful island. Every place I visit captures my heart but one place in particular is so grand and thankfully it was also the setting of a wedding that I attended.
Situated on the 750-acre Tobago Plantations Estate, a gated community of luxury villas, condos and bungalows, Magdalena Grand Beach & Golf Resort is considered the best luxury resort in Tobago. Tobago’s premier resort offers 178 deluxe oceanfront king and double-double rooms plus 22 one and two bedroom oceanfront Tobago suites with private hot tubs, all with breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic ocean from large terraces or balconies. It is the perfect setting for tying the knot. The luxury resort in Tobago is designed for lovers.
"Magdalena" was the original name of Tobago, derived from the name of one of Christopher Columbus’ ships, and now as the resort’s namesake, the name pays homage to the island’s rich history, tradition and people and signifies the majestic beauty of Tobago. The two and one-half miles of beach and coastline adds to the allure of Magdalena Grand Beach Resort as vacationers can stroll through the nature trails and enjoy canopy walks through a virgin mangrove forest.
The Magdalena Grand Beach Resort offers a full range of facilities and activities including three swimming pools - one adults-only and one free-form pool; a Dive Center with a training pool; an 18-hole PGA-designed Championship golf course; pitching and putting greens. The Tobago Plantations Golf and Country Club is a par-72, 18-hole course that has been woven into the landscape of an old coconut plantation.  The landscape varies greatly throughout the course with lakes, woodland thickets, beaches, mangroves and wild grass providing each hole with a very distinctive character. Tobago begins a new chapter with the introduction of the Magdalena Grand Beach Resort, a premier leisure and business property.

Getting ready for the wedding

In love with this Abaya

The groom in his element.
"Hulk" as he's fondly known, for obvious reasons asked me to take a photo with him but then blinks in the photo. LOL. I think he still looks dapper!

At the Kalina Restaurant

The Magdalena Grand Beach Resort offers several restaurants and casual dining options including the Pembrois Buffet, the resort’s main restaurant; Kali’na fine dining restaurant; Robinson Crusoe Pub; Tavaco Lounge Piano Bar (situated in the lobby); Salaka Grill, a poolside and beachfront grill; Benné Café, a gourmet pastry shop and café; and Li’l Nylon Pool, a swim-up pool bar. Kali’na restaurant is named for the first Tobagonians, who were Amerindians known for artisanship and incorporation of local produce, like cassava. Kali’na’s menu is a reflection of Tobago’s culinary history with Indian, African, European, and Asian influence delivering a cuisine that is “bold”, explosive in flavour, eclectic and addictive. Following this approach, Kali’na’s chefs constantly create an exciting menu with Caribbean culinary influences that are matched with the latest trends.
